Super Mario Brothers: Super Show

A couple of days ago, while out in Walmart, I stumbled upon a video rental box.  They advertised $1.00 movies and I thought, “Hey, why not?  They are only for a dollar.”  As I proceeded to the video rental box, I noticed something wonderfully amazing:

A DVD of Super Mario Brothers: Super Show.

I’ve always known of the Zelda animated cartoon series.  However, somewhere along my childhood, I must have missed Super Mario Brothers: Super Show.  I’m not sure on what to take of the animated series.  Was it so deliciously bad that it was good, was it good, was it bad, or were the writers on drugs when they wrote the script of it?  Overall, if people want a good laugh or a good “WTF?” definitely check out Super Mario Brothers:  Super Show.  You’ll definitely be saying Terrific Tortellini or any other variation of a word plus some sort of Italian pasta.

The two best characters in the volume that I watched were Toad and Luigi.  Toad had many one-liners that were literally quite priceless.  One of the most memorable lines he had was something along the lines of:

Old Japanese Man: Bowser-zilla has stolen all of the special sushi.  I have a clip of him eating the special sushi.
*Bowser eats*
Toad: Gosh, I knew Bowser was fat but I didn’t expect him to be such a PIG!

Hahaha, and the way Toad said the Bowser comments made it even more memorable.

Along with Toad’s great one-liners, Luigi seemed to have many two-worders that made him awesome.  Everytime Mario was hurt, Luigi would say, “Insert an adjective for terrible + insert a pasta.”  Everytime Mario was doing well, Luigi would say, “Insert adjective for great + pasta.”

These cartoons were quite great.  They definitely reminded me of my childhood of playing Mario.  All of the music were part of the game.  I definitely recommend watching these shorts because they provide a great laugh.  However, if people are looking for something deep and profound, you will probably not find it within these cartoons.

Hmmmmm, or perhaps you can?  If you can somehow find a deep, dark symbolism in any Mario game.

You be the judge.  You know, I never learned how Mario and Luigi landed in the Mushroom Kingdom until the cartoon’s intro song.  :O.
